I agree, better to find out about a broken plane before it takes off.

Wow, Toe optioned to Scranton to make room for Bird. This has to be short term and the team should look to deal Walker since playing time is going to be hard for him to find now.

Wow, I would have bet money on Tyler Austin going down. He's starting to fly off the ball badly. He's 0 for his last 14 with seven strikeouts. Overall, he's struck out 43 times in 104 at bats, and he has drawn only one walk in the last month. He's stopped going to the opposite field and working the count, which is what made him successful before his suspension. Defensively, Torreyes can play anywhere on the diamond except pitcher. Austin is really a DH who occasionally must play in the field.

I think the logic is to keep Bird from having to see a lot of LHP until he gets settled in and starts hitting...seven K in 14 ABs stinks, but it is a small sample.

The announcers mentioned during tonight's game that the Yanks play 14 games in the next 13 days, so that's the reason they will carry 13 pitchers. Hopefully they go back to 12 in two weeks.

It is a small sample, which is why I listed his overall strike outs for the year, which is over 42%. In fact, he has struck out 96 times in 227 career at bats, which is also over 42%. I'd rather have Torreyes on the bench. Walker is a switch hitter and is a better first baseman defensively, if Bird needs a rest. Let him go back to playing every day at AAA and start hitting to all fields again.

Adam Warren is back and Kahnle is heading to Scranton. Kind of surprising it was Kahnle they sent down.

They want to build up Kahnle's arm strength.

They want to build up Kahnle's arm strength. Easier to get him consistent pitching opportunities in the minors.

They want to build up Kahnle's arm strength. Easier to get him consistent pitching opportunities in the minors. And easier if he's getting bombed until he's completely right...

More plane trouble the other night heading into Detroit. Smfh. That's what three times this year?? Time to pony up and buy a team jet. Keep them safe and comfortable. I'm actually surprised they don't have a team jet. I always assumed they had one and was shocked they didn't

Well Inger, I wish you an early safe travels!!! Better to find out the plane is broke when it's on the ground than in the air... or in some cases lately, when you're not too far in the air..
