Since Torreyes only weighs 150 pounds, if we get cash I wonder if we’ll get a per pound rate or the minimum rate for a whole player? Or if they send us a regular-sized player if we might have to make up the remainder in cash? Such a confusing time in Yankee history... By the way (weigh) 150 pounds, my ass. If he’s a pound over 146 3/4 I’d be stunned... We'll be lucky to get a couple deep dish pizzas and a case of Goose Island beer.

Beer. I had pretty much stopped drinking beer completely a while back. For some reason, I had decided to sample some various beers, most of which I didn’t care for. So, having done that I just decided I must not like beer much at all. I recently decided to have s nice cold one, and I went back to my “roots” and ordered a Coors Banquet. It was good, so a couple of weeks later, I had another. Good again.
Sometimes we think the grass is greener on the other side of the proverbial fence and we get disappointed. I’m never going to be a heavy drinker, but since I am the world’s least interesting man, when I do it will be a Coors Banquet beer.
What is this Goose Island beer of which you speak? Should I try it? (The answer is clearly no)...

So many micro-breweries and so many different flavors. My son in law likes to sample Craft Beers. He probably set me off on testing some new beers, which was just a mistake on my part. Started several I couldn’t even finish. Some I couldn’t bear to sample, like “ Chocolate Jesus”... Really? Chocolate in beer? Jesus in beer? I’ll pass...Shock Top is to barf. How do people drink that stuff? I went to several company meetings before I “retired” to work for myself that were in towns where they only sold Coors Lite, which I don’t care for much at all (very bubbly...Buuuuhurp))...

To enjoy some of the craft (crap) beers, you're going to need a man-bun or some other pseudo-trendy, male affectation.

We get Bud, Miller genuine draft and Miller lite here in Singapore, but none of my foreign friends like US beer. They say it has no taste, too weak and too gassy. I drink MGD because you can drink a bunch of them and not get too pissed.

I drink MGD because you can drink a bunch of them and not get too pissed. I can see why, since most American beers are weak. Our friends up North can make a good brew, I prefer Moosehead, Molson or LaBatts over most American beers.

I find that a nice Coors Banquet is rich enough for me, has a pleasant, mild but full taste. If I drink it quickly before it warms up it’s perfect. I don’t nurse beers at all. Gulp! Hmmm. That was good. Unless I don’t really like the taste, then it’s sip, sip, <anybody looking?>, here little plant, you look thirsty...

I'm no great aficionado of beer, either. But, if I am socializing and beer is lone the refreshment, I gravitate to Negra Modelo. Long ago, I had access to it only when in Mexico. It's everywhere now. Give it a go sometime.

We'll miss you Toe! Best of luck! Yep, I will miss him too. Just watching the guy cheers me up. I wouldn't be shocked if some day he wound up passing through the Yanks again. They have had their share of second acts. Torreyes is one of many guys who become fan favorites while spending most of their time riding the pines. The Yanks had a guy in the late 60s-early 70s named Frank Tepedino. In five years with the Yankees, he got into 52 games and hit .221 with an OPS+ of 62. But he always got a big cheer when he made one of his infrequent appearances, probably in part because he was from NYC. He later spent a career as a firefighter and still comes back for Old Timer's Day. OH BOY...When I told Tequila, that the Yankees had traded TOE to the Cubs, she said: "No TOE no TALK."
WE will miss TOE = Capable of playing SS, 2B, 3B; plus with a lot of Passion & a Great Attitude!!!
Hope that he helps Cubs to WS!!!
SAD DAY.

Yes, versatile, with great passion and attitude. Of course only moderate skills. So, he's likeable. Maybe even loveable. Maybe cuddly. But he's not needed in NY. C'mon Tequila. Eat a cracker, take a dump on Dome's shoulder, and get over it...As for me, I'm going to hope he does get to play in a LOSING WS, against the Yankees...

www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/report-yankees-among-the-teams-interested-in-jt-realmuto/ar-BBQgVHu Tequila & I would DO this trade in a Heartbeat; well, well, well....depending on what it would cost US???!!! Can we name one high-profile player available in free agency or the trade market that has not been linked to the New York Yankees? Having already acquired ace pitcher James Paxton from the Seattle Mariners, New York apparently has a few different fires burning around the hot stove. We can now add Miami Marlins All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto to the mix of players the team has been linked to. According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, New York has indeed shown interest in Realmuto. This pretty much tells us what we need to know about New York's stance regarding Gary Sanchez's defense behind home plate. Any move to acquire Realmuto would either include Sanchez transitioning to first place or being traded. Realmuto, 27, has been among the hottest names on the trade market over the past calendar year. And it now looks like the Marlins are looking to move the disgruntled backstop. The veteran hit .277 with 21 homers, 74 RBI and an .827 OPS last season. He'd be a major upgrade over Sanchez from a defensive standpoint.

Hey, dome...this discussion about Realmuto is in full flower in the Hot Stove Thread...

We always hear people being nonchalant. How bout when someone is chalant? I love etymology. I believe gruntled is a word but nonchalant is not because it comes from French as opposed to meaning “not chalant”. But I have never heard someone actually use the word gruntled. Maybe we should start. I’m really gruntled with the Paxton trade.
