I’d expect that would be the way it would go, anthony. In that role they could manage a bit more when and where he’d pitch, maybe testing him in low leverage situations at the stadium and work him in tougher spots on the road. Doing that might build him into a full time pitcher that can work anywhere. I do believe that Cashman will reduce the ask for Gray once the Yankees staff appears better settled and he’s failed to deal Gray. Right now there’s still plenty of time to negotiate a deal, and in ST when the injuries startbto add up there will be more openings on more teams. That tends to raise the price on pitching...

Well, right now one of our starters just had heart surgery, so yeah, I’d say we might want to reconsider Gray. It seems like every off season lately CC has some kind of surgery or issue that is kept secretive until after the fact. Nothing wrong with that in the sense that it’s his business, but it is curious.

Yankees in talks with Amazon, Sinclair to bid for Yes Network: WSJ
The New York Yankees are in talks with Amazon.com Inc and Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc about a joint bid for the team's regional sports network, Yes, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The baseball team, which owns 20 percent of Yes, has also been talking to other potential partners, including cable and satellite TV provider Altice USA and RedBird Capital, about buying the remaining 80 percent stake from Walt Disney Co, the report said.
Disney is seeking a valuation of $5 billion to $6 billion for Yes Network, according to the report, adding that the talks are still in early stages and a partnership with either Amazon or Sinclair isn't guaranteed.
Disney, which is buying Twenty-First Century Fox Inc's film and television assets, had said it would divest 22 of Fox's regional sports networks, including New York-focused Yes Network, as part of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Sinclair and Yankees were not immediately available for comment, while Amazon declined to comment.

A little meaningless Yankee trivia on New Years Day: Not so meaningless in my book. Any tradition that’s held onto for 39 years and is still favored by fans (especially music) can’t be all bad, nor meaningless. It does bring joy to my heart when I hear it, and Ruthie has begun to anticipate it as well...

It was strange site seeing a bunch of drunk people, all dressed up doing that chorus line leg kick dance at a Chicago wedding reception.

I would hate for the Yankees to have anything to do with the Sinclair group.🤬 I was thinking the same thing. Just awful. I wasn’t aware of who they were. The Clear Channel Of local TV...I could see them censoring Coney and Paulie...we’d wind up with announcerers hired away from the 700 Club... “The Lord hath mightily assisted Mr. Judge in hitting that ball a long, long way, brother Bill”. “Yes brother Aaron. One knows that without his blessing we have no abilities whatsoever. Let’s pause our broadcast for a moment whilst I give thanks for these nachos I am about to receive”...
