Kaybli, sorry I had to bail in the 8th yesterday, had record my podcast. Damn, I wish I had been around for the ending. Good to see the new guys helping out. This team is much better defensively and it showed yesterday. The bullpen was great and King proved me wrong. Always good to beat the Red Sox. One of the most interesting things about this season is how Boone handles the infield situation. I guess Torres was a little miffed he wasn't playing, but how do you not start DJ? It will probably sort itself out when someone gets hurt, but I hope that doesn't happen.

Myself, my wife and a friend take a lighthearted look about Vermont news each week. Basically it's our Friday afternoon happy hour. We get a little loosened up and yak for 2 hours. I still do the movie too with the same friend. Last episode was movies about scammers with House of Games and Boiler Room.

It will probably sort itself out when someone gets hurt, but I hope that doesn't happen. I had hoped that Torres and The Martian would have been part of a package for Oakland's Matt Olson, but the Athletics received a great haul from the Braves, and all of them are in the minors, which saves the penny-hoarding East Bay Bridge team even more expenditures, seemingly their ultimate goal. Either that, or it is a ploy to ensure fans must purchase a program to figure out who's on the field for them each year. I feel for the Athletic fans, who are knowledgeable and loyal and don't even mind playing in a football stadium. Once Olson moved to Atlanta, I hoped the Yankees may have taken Torres and The Martian for a number two starter, but by that time there was almost no one worth it to be had, as I am not a huge fan of Sean Manaea - even with his seven no-hit innings yesterday. Max Scherzer should have been a Yankee years ago. The guy is blood and guts and durability, and his eyes remind me of a German Shepard I had as a boy.

Concur with you on Scherzer, Rizz. Even this last gasp borderline insane contract with the Mets I would have considered. You won't see many like him over the course of a lifetime as a fan. He just exudes combative competitiveness. I think historically in terms of makeup and approach he might be comparable to Lefty Grove.
I can't imagine that The Boss wouldn't have found a way to bring him to the Yankees.

He is definitely no more than 10% German Shepherd though. I’ve seen GS’s fetch, but never saw one throw like him. Maybe there’s 10% batting cage throwing apparatus in his gene pool, too. If there is that conjures up a disturbing American Pie-like image of a late night tryst between the machine and a maintenance guy… But there is no doubt the son of a gun is at least part machine…

Never anywhere in any sport. “Righty Wilson is now on lane 5 with a string of 4 strikes to start the game.” “He really looks locked in, Bill.”… Or: “The great “Righty Thompson will be seeking his 250th career win today.”… “Did you know he was born a female, Bill?” “We must now pause for this commercial break.”…

I wanted to clear something up that Ted said before we left. Righty Thompson as not born a female, Ted. He was born left-handed and his father forced him to use his right hand.” “Ooh, much worse and horribly abusive. So, is he amphibious now?”…

He may not even recognize these are simply unconscious feelings occasionally bubbling up to the surface in the form of random comments within baseball posts. No matter, we should be positive and supportive. Inger's historical repression of condiments and proclivity for cooking the moisture out of cuts of meat may have been merely an awkward prelude to embracing the spice of life.
