After listening to Kirk Gibson the past three days I checked to see if speech is affected by Parkinson’s. The answer is yes. The speech becomes softer, sometimes slurred and more monotone. It’s often the first symptom noticed by friends and family before the disease is medically confirmed… Admirable that he’s still announcing. Being so loved by the home fans makes it easier, I suppose. When I first heard him I had no idea who it was. They finally showed a clip of him on the mic. Until Chi told be he had Parkinson’s I had no idea… Yep. It takes guts. I suppose on the level that MJ Fox has shown, that Ali showed to speak in from of crowds, and that a head-shaking Kate Hepburn showed to continue acting… It can’t hurt the effort to get donations to help with research, as it humanizes the disease… |

Was that a perfectly executed hit and run? I forget what that looked like. That’s why I want IKF batting second… Having Judge huff and puff until he strikes out is boring. Yes, he might hit a HR, but those are rarer than singles… |

Gallo getting wood on the ball today--pop up to short, foul out to 3d. Next thing you know, his average will be back over .125.

Right, this has been far worse then even Gallo's very low standards. Most pitchers aren't this bad at hitting. |
