Idiot fans throwing stuff at the Guardian outfielders. Shame shame Typical clowns in the bleachers. Nice win, that's a Yankee win of old - down to last out then walk, boom tied, boom game over. Nestor is so fun to watch, breath of fresh air compared to typical MLB pitchers. I like IKF at bottom, contact guy - finding himself on both sides. Nice stop-gap type of player for a team on a budget. Huge for Gleyber, haven't seen him stay behind the ball like that much and hit it with authority since 2019.

It doesn't matter how hard relievers throw, major league batters can still hit them with the right approach. IKF was hunting a fastball inside and got one - 100.3 mph - but with two-strikes, he wasn't try to do too much except make good contact. Suddenly, "Kwan-ack" and a game-tying double. Gleyber - likewise - did not try to "create" a moment, rather taking the pitch as thrown to right field and staying balanced throughout the swing. There is such a thing as situational hitting, hitting with two-strikes, and eliminating pitches and locations to ensure good contact to put the ball in play. This is the mental aspect of baseball that is rarely seen these days - along with crisp base running and taking something off a pitch - that is the hallmark of thinking and reacting like a baseball player...not just a free swinger or a max thrower. Yes, I fell asleep again. But, what a wonderful feeling of a walk-off win to end the slumber!

Really who thought it was a good idea to use Green in the 8th inning of a 1 run game? he shouldn't be used in high leverage games anymore.

When Torres cam up to bat the mushrooms kicked in and Tequila & I were giggling like hell figuring Cleveland won this one.
When Torres got the game winning run, I figured it was the Mushrooms and not reality.
It took me up to now to realize it was the Real Thing!!!
Bravo to Yankees and to Cortes...

Looking at the box score, the only starters without hits today were Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. Gallo was on base twice with a hit and a walk. IKF had another two hits to take his batting average to a Noetsi-appreciated and approved .298. Donaldson walked twice and had the big 421 foot fly into the bullpen. Hicks had a hit and a walk. LeMahieu looks back to normal at the top of the lineup with a .298 BA and a .389 OBP.
Donaldson, Torres, Gallo, and Higashioka are still on the Interstate - but some positive signs are showing - at .196, .195, .136, and .121.
