Pretty good one, Russ! I bow to thee!!! Now, who is this Russ Francis??… He was a tight end for the Patriots who doubled as a bouncer. Bars are tough in Boston. Then why do you refer to him as a .200 hitter?…

I always wondered if playing the game back on your vcr (which dates me) was rebroadcasting the game and required permission from MLB. But I am betting few asked... Yes, if you did that, they're coming for you. Time to go on the lam.

From wikipedia:
In the dairy country of southeastern and central Pennsylvania, an ice cream soda made with vanilla ice cream and birch beer is called a "birch beer float", while chocolate ice cream and birch beer makes a "black cow".
I had no idea. Is birch beer similar to root beer in flavor?

Wow, I don't think I've had one of those in forty years. But it does sound good. I used to like Frosty Root Beer, but I am far from being a connoisseur on the subject. In these parts, Birch Beer is almost as popular as Root Beer. Barq's in a bottle is quite popular in Louisiana. One of my brothers always liked A&W. Dad's was always pretty good, but not so much anymore due to HFCS. High fructose corn syrup ruined the flavor of soft drinks. Give me good ole cane sugar. Just like McDonald's French fries were never the same when they stopped frying them in beef tallow. I've never heard of Birch Beer. Birch Beer is made from extract from birch bark. I think it's largely a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. Similar to Root Beer, but not as sweet and with more of a bite. I suppose if it's made from bark it should have a bite.
