He never once in his career had an even average OPS+ in a season. His career OPS was .673 and OPS+ of 72. He led the league in steals That's all he had. Don't argue with me noetsi. I am a certified Womack historian.

Mendoza only played 4 years and was never a success. Womack was successful at times, if not on the Yankees ...ugh....Mario Mendoza played for nine major league seasons.

I have several of Topps ballcards from his Pittsburgh and Seattle days. The 78 Topps set is one of my all time favorites.

I'll see you in hell Womackkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time does not heal all wounds!!!!!!!!

Mario Mendoza has no hate at all connected to him. He is a symbol of the all-glove, no hit shortstop of the past. He was a very nice guy and likable or he could not have stayed around the league for nearly a decade.

He was never that important a player. I had a lot more personal unhappiness with Randy Johnson to mention one and the ever injured pitcher we got from MN.

In my book, no one who sculpted a nine year MLB career is a failure. Just a bit less of a success than they would have liked to have been…
