He was before my time and never played for the Yankees hence the lack of visceral hate for him. Blomack on the other hand.

He was never that important a player. I had a lot more personal unhappiness with Randy Johnson to mention one and the ever injured pitcher we got from MN. Randy Johnson won 34 games for the Yankees in two seasons at 41 and 42 years old, all the while needing back surgery, yet throwing over 430 innings. He beat the Red Sox six times in one season. In those two seasons, the Yankees had no fourth or fifth starter and essentially a two-man bullpen. And, Andy Phillips at first base. |

I never got the sense he was trying at all or cared that he pitched as poorly as he did. He pretty much admitted that. You neglected to mention his ERA.  |
