Of course, I get to listen to Scott Garceau and Ben McDonald. McDonald at least offers good analysis. I recall Garceau from his earliest days on Baltimore Sports, not a back guy. But he did say that Severino was a contender for the Cy Young in the “not too distant future” of 2017 a little while ago… 😂
Easy slip, I suppose… A reason that a guy becomes a 40 year lifer in one mid-sized city… Still waiting for that call from Chicago, Dallas, NY, LA…

Did you have your drag race pipps? Well, an abbreviated version. Rain again this weekend. But I did get off one pass (what we Gearheads call the race😁) and avoided anything really embarrassing-- no crash, no chunks of metal left on the track -- and even though I lost to a nasty Plymouth Barracuda, I did crack 100 MPH and had about an average time for a rookie. But the rains came down before I got my next chance (Car 34!!) and they won't run on a wet track. I had a great time and look forward to trying it again. Plus I now have a spiffy Speed Racer helmet. |

But I did get off one pass (what we Gearheads call the race😁) and avoided anything really embarrassing-- no crash, no chunks of metal left on the track -- and even though I lost to a nasty Plymouth Barracuda, I did crack 100 MPH and had about an average time for a rookie. But the rains came down before I got my next chance (Car 34!!) and they won't run on a wet track. I had a great time and look forward to trying it again. Plus I now have a spiffy Speed Racer helmet. I don't think I did any damage, although he said I burned more tread off of his rear radials than necessary during the burnout phase. |
