It amazes me that Stanton decided to swing before seeing the pitch. That is the only thing that makes sense for flailing at that last pitch. When he gets into a funk, he can't lay off that pitch that tails way outside.

Anyone want to bet Cole pitches to one batter?

I stand corrected. Cole is pitching to the rookie after striking out Count Mountcastle.

Eight innings for Cole - one awful inning and one pretty darn good swing to the opposite field on a fastball up and away. Have to tip my cap on that homer.

Bautista is listed as 6'5" and 190 pounds. He looks taller than than and about forty pounds heavier.

His delivery was just too quick to my eyes that inning.

Big-eyed Wandy Peralta takes over in the ninth.

Odor couldn't go the other way in Pinstripes to save the lives of his children. Now, he does.

Peralta has not looked the same this season, much like Loaisiga. This would have been a perfect inning for Clarke Schmidt to pitch a clean ninth, alas.

I wonder if almost hitting that catcher in the head shook for the rest of the inning? To me, every time Cole is off, it's been mechanical. Rushing his delivery and not loading properly, creating out of sync mechanics with his arm dragging through behind his body, leaving his fastball up. Like a push shot in golf.
