I had to be careful. It depended on who I was dining with. After I was senior enough, I simply made lunch the end of my work day. But never one of those three-martini lunches I read about but never actually experienced. I think you just became my hero!  Hah. Fortunately for me, the nature of my work permitted maximum autonomy. In fact I never really had a job where I had much supervision. I couldn't have functioned well if I had to account for every hour of my day! As long as the results were there, I was always left alone. |

I learned how to pitch like a sidewinder just to make sure the rag-ball hit the back of the couch and not the wall or light fixtures behind it. It was fun to throw from all angles and to imitate guys like Tiant and Tekulve.
