Red Sox lost series to Blue Jays, lost series to Cubs, about to lose series to TB Plus Toronto lost a series to Oakland and barely avoided getting swept with a 2-1 win today. It would take a historic collapse to lose the AL East. I'm keeping my eye on Houston.

He was a fearsome sight at the plate. He looked like he was standing ten feet from the pitcher. I believe he is suffering from MS these days. I had no idea. Another of Sarah's maladies that she had to endure for half her life. Parker was exciting to watch. I still like those old caps. I had one of those when I was kid. The Yankees & Pirates were my two favorite teams when I was little kid (they never played each other, so it worked) I used imitate the Willie Stargell windmill swings to my little league coach told me to knock it off.

Remember that throw he made in the All Star game? Few people remember, that is was a Graig Nettles single that started the whole play. Is this the one: Great play by both Parker and Carter. Two legends. And nostalgic to hear Joe Garagiola and Tony Kubek on the call.

Big Poison (my dad first - in one of his rare good moods - told me about the Waner brothers) had 237 hits in 1927 with a line of .380/.437/.549/.986.

Thanks Kaybli. Different sources attribute MVPs differently, so for the old timers it's hard to know. Pre- World War I they used to give out The Chalmers Award, which was in essence an MVP award, but not everyone counts those.
