Devers owns Cole. Just sick. Would you trust Cole in a post-season game at Fenway? I wouldn't. And to think the Yankees gave Cole 36 million per year to win games like that and tonight. The YES guys are going on and on about Devers but if Cole just gets the easy outs in the lineup, the Yanks are still up big. How do walk a .160 hitting catcher when you know Devers is lurking? Why not walk him? Just like when Vlad, Jr. had that monster game against us. And, there was that other guy this year who hit three dingers against us. Devers kills righties. Boone could have walked Devers and had Cole pitch to a right-handed batter. |

This is all on our alleged Ace who mentally crumbles all the time when things get tough. Why pitch to a guy that owns you when there is a base open? Devers is responsible for all five of the Red Sox runs tonight. Devers went down and got that second home run. It wasn't that bad of a pitch. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to other ball players. Let someone else try to hurt you with two outs and a base open. Seems like an easy decision to me. Especially with a lefty who torches right-handed pitchers. |
