Gallo gets excellent jumps. He made that look easy.

Terrific inning by Peralta. King and then Holmes. Close this one out!

Cashman sure has an eye for relivers. I didn't think much of Peralta when the Yanks traded Tauchman to get him, but he's been a big addition.

I blame Boone for a lot of things, but not tonight. This is all on our alleged Ace who mentally crumbles all the time when things get tough. Why pitch to a guy that owns you when there is a base open? Devers is responsible for all five of the Red Sox runs tonight. Devers went down and got that second home run. It wasn't that bad of a pitch. Sometimes you have to tip your hat to other ball players. Let someone else try to hurt you with two outs and a base open. Seems like an easy decision to me. Especially with a lefty who torches right-handed pitchers. I have no problem blaming both Cole and Boone. Cole for being owned so totally by any player and Boone for not recognizing it. But I am very disappointed in Cole and his performance at Fenway. I haven't forgotten last year's post season disaster. Three runs in two innings. He has a lot to prove on that issue.

Gallo gets excellent jumps. He made that look easy. He is indeed excellent defensively. It's somewhat surprising that his horror show at bat hasn't leaked over into his play in the field.

Terrific inning by Peralta. King and then Holmes. Close this one out! And walk Devers. Even if the bases are loaded.

I still say Cole is more Drysdale than Koufax…A workhorse rather than an ACE that can put together good stretches and a couple fine seasons here and there…There’s not a whole lot wrong with that. Except if you paid him like an Ace and that’s blocking you from paying a better pitcher…

Cole was not the same after hurting his hamstring at the end of the season. And, we lost that game 6-2, with a home run by Rizzo (his only hit) and three hits from Stanton. No one else showed up offensively. We didn't score until the sixth inning, which was the story all last season. Had Boone not thrown away so many wins last season by constantly pulling starters after 70 pitches and burning out his bullpen, we wouldn't have been in a one-game playoff. Not to mention leading the league in outs at home plate and on the bases.
