The 32-54 Reds are next. They have played a little better lately, but this is a team you need to sweep. They just swept the Rays.

Yankees score 5+ in every game of the series, but also gave up 5+ in every game.

2 clunkers in a row. We were overdue for that. And it was Boston, a pretty good team with some surprising pitching depth. DJ, ILF, and Rizzo were the primary fielding failures, so you know tgat’s not going to continue… Just a couple bad days. Better times ahead vs. the Tigers…

Yankees score 5+ in every game of the series, but also gave up 5+ in every game. That's usually the way it was in 2003 & 2004.

That's a pretty remarkable stat.

That's a pretty remarkable stat. I read somewhere else that every team in the majors has at least 9 of those type of losses and there's the Yankees with just 4.

Taillon is pitching himself out of this rotation. Yankees are going to need some multiple inning arms in the pen like German and Clarke Schmidt with Taillon pitching like he has been. Over his last seven games, Taillon has pitched to an ERA just a smidgen under 7.00. Even with the kind of hitting the Yankees have, that's tough to cover. And it's not a small sample size within the context of a season for a starting pitcher. This might be a good time to discover that he sustained a minor injury on the ball that hit him and that as a precautionary measure -- nobody loves precautionary measures more than Boone -- he will be placed on the IL until after the All Star break. Sears or Schmidt can take his next start, which as of now will be Saturday against Boston. Either that or throw him back out there and see if he's 1)determined what the problem is, or 2)let him get his brains beat out again if you need further proof that he's just not getting it done. Nothing is carved in stone, he could possibly get it right or he could possibly have lost it. But just watching him get lit up every five days isn't helping anybody.

I must apologize for abandoning everyone last night. Once the score was 6-6, I had a feeling it was time to put the horses in the barn. Looking at the final score this morning, I was not shocked. Just had that feeling.

Just had that feeling. All good. I left right when it turned 11-6. I probably should have gone down with the ship, but I had a headache.

I checked out early too, mainly because I was tired but also because I can't stand that national broadcasts. Even Cone can't save it.

Cone was overshadowed by all the interviews and ancillary things for sure.
