Where are they Chi? Don't worry, I won't bother them! My parents and even my grandparents used to regularly run up to NYC, so it came naturally to me to do the same. Early in our marriage my wife and I probably visited the city 15 times a year. No place like it. My parents are in East Brandywine, which is near Downingtown, my one sister lives in King of Prussia and the other one lives along the Jersey Shore, near Avalon, so she's really not a Philly area resident, although she used to be. I know those places very well. Downingtown is in Chester County, as am I. King of Prussia was our main mall back in the days when we went to malls (like 40 years ago.) My Aunt and Uncle have a place in Avalon. Which is where Ed McMahon had a home for many years.

I go outside to mow and right on cue… Lightning ⚡️ starts. It’s hotter than blazes still, even though it’s down to 90 degrees and the sun is getting… at least not real high anymore. Maybe in a half hour… blast…
The house we’re looking at has a nice spate of natural lawn and is so smooth vs mowing on clumps of grass here. The one we went to look at was quite frightening. And it was the nicest one in g to be neighborhood. We went about four miles away to Manassa, yes home of Jack Dempsey and found one that we liked and put an offer on… Now we wait…

I never realized Philly was that close to NYC! Only about 140 from Philly to DC, maybe 100 to Baltimore. It's well-positioned for hitting the big East Coast cities. Out of idle curiosity, I tried to find a city that was equidistant from NOLA as are Dallas/Houston. I came up with Panama City FL at 237 miles. Driving east from New Orleans along old Highway 90 (old route before I-10) is a leisurely drive with seafood joints all along the way. Interesting little towns like Ocean Springs and historical sites like Beauvoir House, The Mississippi Blues and Jazz trail, a 500 year-old live oak tree in Long Beach, etc. Traffic is always light.

Hope it works out.

Not watching the game but saw the score and why the hell did they start German in this important game for home field in the playoffs? I can’t with this organization sometimes.

I like that area. Yes, the Blues and Jazz Trail is a wonderful concept. We were at Beauvoir (Jefferson Davis home) many years ago. I remember the Planters Hotel in the old section of Biloxi. Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile. We'll be spending a few weeks in the winter in Pensacola and will revisit some of those places.

We've talked about this before, but the best cheese steak I've ever had was from a little, dumpy place called Sam's Pizza in Downingtown. My mouth is watering right now just thing about eating one. Where are you at in PA, Pipps?

Dark hole in the wall joints always make the best cheesesteaks. I think you have to accumulate years of grease and onion residue to get it right. You want a place that can barely pass the Board of Health inspection with a bribe.

Where are you at in PA, Pipps? I'm in the little town of Chadds Ford, which straddles Chester and Delaware Counties. We're about two miles north of the border with Delaware. The town I grew up in.

Especially after seeing how important it was in 17 and 19. The Yankees definitely need to come up with a better approach to facing Christian Javier. Two hits and one run in 12 innings isn't going to cut it in the post-season.

Dreadful night for Judge & Stanton. These guys have to show up if the Yanks want to have any chance of beating the Astros.
