There have been a lot of pitchers named Wells over the past 25-30 years. Tyler Wells, his teammate Alexander Wells, David Wells, Kip Wells, Bob Wells. Plus position players Vernon Wells, Austin Wells, Casper Wells. I'm sure I'm missing some.

That would have cleared the left center field fence of Yankee Stadium that Joe DiMaggio played in by 3 feet. Gives you an idea why Joe D. does not have overwhelming home run stats. |
