You should try some actual skateboarding! I want to see the inger do that! He used to do it in his teens… Those early skateboards were really basic, as I'm sure you recall. I got one in 1963 and it wasn't much more than a flat piece of wood attached to roller skate wheels. The slightest bump in the road could send you flying headfirst onto the asphalt. I remember it was made by Hobie, the same company that made the Hobie Cat. To me at that point anything that came out of LA was automatically cool. Then Jan and Dean came out with "Sidewalk Surfin'" and I was inspired to continue bloodying my elbows and knees.
