Sorry for the delay in responding Kaybli. We spent the weekend along the shore of Lower Delaware which included plying the waters of a place called (not making this up) Big Assawoman Bay. Anyway thanks for the latest from the doddering Sterling. The advent of Carlos Beltran has taught me that there is worse than even him. Still, for a franchise like the Yankees, this is embarrassing stuff. lol, I remember years ago, driving with my family to Rehoboth Beach and seeing signs for Assawoman Bay. We were kids, so we thought it was hilarious. I’m an adult and I’ve always thought Assawoman was funny as all heck… The Assawoman “Brand” spreads over a tri-state area, with the actual town of Assawoman in Virginia, the bay in Worcester county, MD, the Assawoman Wildlife Refuge in Delaware, Assawoman Street right in Bethany Beach. There’s an Assawoman Canal, a Lottle Assawoman Bay in Delaware, and so on. My mother used to laugh because she had heard there was a town in PA called Assawoman, but alas her geography was incorrect… |

Impressive Assawoman knowledge there Inger. As you know Lancaster County PA is home to Intercourse and Blue Ball.

A bit more Assawoman and then we’ll move on to other parts of the anatomy. The name was originally contrived after the similarly named Assawaman Indian tribe that inhabited the area when the white man arrived. It was 1966 when the local governments settled on the current spelling and pronunciation…
