It's pretty said when YES announcers are overpraising a guy for running to first base hard, but they have been watching Torres and Stanton all season.

It's pretty said when YES announcers are overpraising a guy for running to first base hard, but they have been watching Torres and Stanton all season. This started with Barry Bonds, whom it was explained was "too valuable" to run hard to first base, lest he injure himself and miss games. I remember some Yankee fans making the same argument to excuse Robinson Cano, except both Joe Torre and Joe Girardi spoke with Cano about it being a problem. Now, it's epidemic, except by some teams like Tampa Bay and possibly Baltimore. |
