Man that drains a lot of joy out of this game. Dammit. He was hitting, gaining confidence, fitting in the clubhouse. Now, no one is helping Judge, who will be given a wide berth at the plate by every pitcher on the mound. Will Donaldson or Gonzalez be attending that berth?… |

Crossing my fingers that the news is good on Benintendi. But it didn't look good. When I worked construction during college, I injured my wrist over time from breaking huge pipe transitions. Essentially, I would hold a sledgehammer behind the coupling or 45 degree fitting, while someone else swung another sledgehammer into the pipe fitting. That constant stress over a few weeks, produced a stress fracture somewhere in my wrist. Every now and then, if I am in a very specific position, a debilitating pain like an electric shock will shoot through my wrist and I automatically drop anything in my hand. All strength just leaks away immediately, not even able to hold an empty coffee cup, much less a bat. That has to be what that felt like for Benintendi. |
