This is Florial's slash line: .097/.200/.097 His OPS is .297. The Yankees need to win games, they can't waste time with guy this awful and hope he figures it out. Just play Andujar/Judge/Cabera for another 10 days until Bader gets back. Very unfair, Chi. If every kid with upside was dismissed after a 3 for 31 slump, we wouldn’t have had many big stars. I forget the numbers, but I recall Willy Mays stumbling out of the gate with a long 0 fer, and Mickey Mantle crying and wanting to go home… I think Chi is just saying enough of the resting/tinkering/etc. They should have had Florial up earlier in the season for a longer stretch. Need to just ride the hot hand right now since they let their division lead sink to an amount that you can't cruise at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Willie Mays, May 25 to June 1, 1951: .039 .219 .154 .373 1 for 26 At that point, Willie felt defeated and requested that he be sent back to the minor leagues. The Giants refused and kept playing him. He succeeded immediately thereafter… Yea but you can figure things out more earlier in the season or if the Yankees were like 10 up right now though a win tomorrow puts them 5.5 up with 21 to go and no head to head. We have a slumping kid in RF now, big we’re showing him that we trust him. The message to Florial is different. They’re telling him that he strikes out too much, that they’d like to deal him away. Other than Judge, what hot hand do we have to play? We’re just looking for the best of the bad right now… Hoping for veterans to make it back to the team. Veterans tgat May or may not make it back, and then may or may not be 100%…

With the 10th win against the Rays, Yankees now hold the division tie breaker over them. Important because there is no game 163 anymore. Rays must finish 1 game ahead of the Yankees to win the division.

He hit a bit at first. The league has adjusted. Have you noticed that their killing him with curve balls? He needs to learn how to take some, and how to hit them. They’re better than the quality of curves he was seeing in MiLB, and breaking later. Can he do it? We can only hope so, because he seems to be a great kid!…

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's not really fair to critique Cabrera because he is playing the outfield for the first time. Today, he bobbled a ball prior to his throw that allowed a run to score in review. But, no one complained about that. A clean thrown probably gets the runner by three feet. Again, it's not fair because for someone not accustomed to the outfield, Cabrera has played better than expected. As for centerfield, Florial covers more ground than anyone we currently have because of his length, speed, and quick jumps. Today, it is my opinion that he probably lost the ball in the sun twice, and he still nearly made the catch, which bounced off the heel of his glove. That happens when you have to adjust your glove at the last second while on a full run, waiting for it to come out of the glare. Florial has only had thirty-one at bats. Oswaldo Cabrera has had more than twice that amount, including an 0-25 streak. I just do not understand the enmity for Florial when he really hasn't been given a consistent opportunity. Florial has a total of 54 at bats in his career, which spans three different seasons. Cabrera has already been given more opportunity in his very first call up (79). What is Cabrera's career OPS: .478. What is Florial's career OPS: .579. Why the difference in treatment? Recency bias?

Have any you ever replaced a walking belt on a treadmill? What a pain in the arse, that's what I've been doing since the end of the Yankee game.
Great win, it's nice to finally exhale after that explosive 1st inning and credit to Taillon for pitching into the 8th inning.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Back in early July, when the Yankees were rolling, I was all for bringing up Florial and giving him some extending run to see if he could be the team's CF. Things are different now, the Yankees needs all the wins they can get, so they can't live with Florial's growing pains. He can't hit at all and has zero plate discipline and he's making mistakes in the field that are costing the the team runs. Plus, the writing is on the wall with Florial, the Yankees don't like his game and he's only here because of all the injuries. He'll probably be in another organization next year. Cabrera is different. He's struggled at the plate too, but as soon as they put him in RF, he quickly became one the best defensive RF's in the game. His defensive metrics are off the charts, it's hard to believe really, plus he can play three infield sports too, so he's far more valuable than Florial, so he's going to keep playing.

I would just throw the treadmill out and buy another one considering my lack of skills.

Who invented the Allen wrench system and why? It's so annoying disabling things with an Allen wrench, so much easier with bolts that use a phillips head screwdriver.

I used to do it but I can't stand it these days. Much prefer to go outside and go for walks. Even when the weather gets too cold I think I'm just going to go walk in the mall.
