It sucks for Judge. In this day and age of Twitter, YouTube, ESPN, etc. no one wants to give up 62 and be seen 24/7 as the pitcher that gave it up. I bet 99% of baseball fans have any clue who gave #61 to Maris or #62 to Bonds. Its not an insult for a pitcher to give up a HR to a great player.

Why was Nestor taken out with one out and nobody on? He's not hurt is he? Probably because it was 8-0 and they didn't want to overwork him. I guess. But it was 8-0 before the inning started. Maybe he wanted Nestor to get a nice ovation when he came out?

Strange they didn't activate Castro and choose to put this guy on the roster. Barnes is the 32nd pitcher the Yankees have used this year. I checked on random championship teams in the past to see how this stacked up. The 2009 Yankees used 24 pitchers. The 1998 Yankees used 19 pitchers. The 1978 Yankees used 17 pitchers. The 1961 Yankees used 16 pitchers. The 1953 Yankees used 14 pitchers. The 1939 Yankees used 12 pitchers. The 1927 Yankees used 10 pitchers. I think I detect a trend there.

Judge needed a hit there to keep up with the triple crown chase. When they pitch every pitch outside it doesnt help

I also know about Al Downing and Hank Aaron, even Tom House catching the big one in the bullpen, but when Bonds broke* the record, I didn’t even want to hear about it… * since everyone knows what the asterisk means, I don’t want to use foul language and will not explain…

Barnes keeps the shutout in tact and the Yankees beat the gutless O's.

So really only 9 contributors.

Judge has 13 walks in the last 7 games, 32 walks since September 2.

Well, we're heading up to the Finger Lakes tomorrow, so now we have to leave by 6 AM to get there by about noon so I can watch the game. I made a deal with my sister-in-law that I would supply lunch for the multitudes if I could get unencumbered access to a specific TV (they have about eight of them) to watch the game in peace.
It's so exciting to watch Judge walk.
