I've wanted Willson Contreras for a few years now. He would definitely improve the Yankees. Either Higgy or Trevino can back up, hoping the other will be packaged in a trade with Gleyber Torres. Talk about bringing fire and a vocal presence in the clubhouse! He's another Jorge Posada in that regard. Contreras is one athletic backstop, too. He already has twenty home run power and would take advantage of the opposite field porch in Yankee Stadium.

I’d like to see Rortvedt get a shot. So damned strong, LF so short. Perhaps at least as the backup to Contreras.
As 2022 finished, Higashioka came back into favor with me. It’s going to be tough, but I look for Higgy to be swapped away. Contreras should still be in his prime for another 3-4 years. We could use him.
Contreras /Rortvedt is my final pick…

Contreras /Rortvedt is my final pick… Trevino might be the one to be wanted in trades, as he is a bit better of a defensive catcher and is a couple years younger than Higgy. Either way, I'd rather have Contreras starting over both of them. If we can improve catcher, third, shortstop, second, left field, and center offensively, it may offset losing Judge in right field. First base is the wild card - Rizzo brings so much to the table. I'd like to see him back. |
