Here are some Aaron Hicks highlights: Lol. I didn’t comment on it during the game thread, but he made the strangest catch in CF to today. The wind was blowing in and there was a high pop fly behind SS. Volpe nor Peraza went for the ball, as they probably didn’t expect it to blow back toward them. Left field and Hicks were converging, but the only one with a chance to get there was Hicks. Still running in, he reached down and to his left and sort of slapped downward toward the ball and snagged it almost behind him. Almost like an infielder fueling the bounce on a high chop that almost got past him. I was surprised it stayed in his glove. I’ve never seen a ball successfully fielded that way in the air… It wasn’t necessarily a good look. Most fielders would have probably slid in under the ball to get down low enough to be under it… |
