The Yankees have a top 10 2nd baseman and third baseman. It seems so simple, play them a majority of the games.

This can't hurt, although Peraza and Volpe don't have a lot of experience playing anywhere but SS. IKF is a utility guy, so he should get used to playing all over the diamond. |

I've seen many second basemen and third basemen that cannot play shortstop, but I cannot recall a single shortstop that could not play second base...or even third for that matter. Granted, to feel comfortable and excel at the highest level for the position will take repetition, but we saw how quickly an infielder adjusted to right field last season in Cabrera. The good news is that the Yankees aren't converting a lifer to another position. These guys are young, athletic, and already solid defensive players, so the transition probably will not take long. And, if Volpe or Peraza does not make the final roster, you can bet upon returning to AAA, they will get plenty of work at the position of need. The problem, of course, is that Donaldson and Torres are in the way, and Torres likely will not get traded until close to the deadline, unless another team is faced with an injury early. |

KEEP IKF for 3B if DJ not there, or back-up to 3B/SS/2B (he can also play catcher). Trade/Cut Donaldson. Wait until mid-season to Trade Torres (???) Then put Volpe at 2B (if not sooner).
2 infielders the Yankees could end up trading this year.
