Charlie Morton still has it, at least for three innings, and in the mix for the end of the rotation for Atlanta. The guy just knows how to pitch. Still has the curveball and a solid changeup.

Just getting here. Terrible habit has developed of getting up in the morning and then returning to bed for a nap of variable length. Sometimes I get back up at nine thirty, like yesterday. Sometimes it’s almost twelve, like today.
I’ve spent most of my life sleep deprived. I guess my body is telling me it’s time to fix that…

...Across two outings, the 29-year-old starter has given up seven earned runs over 4.2 innings. During that sample size, he also allowed five hits, three homers, two walks, and struck out seven batters. He looked a lot better against the Rays, despite the unfortunate stat line.

The sound went out on the broadcast here so I’ve had to watch six Yankee runs score on a pair of three run homers. No idea who hit the one to left, but Dominguez hit the second one. 8-6 Yankees is a nice surprise at this point…

I only went there once, and watched Staten Island play. Got to visit with our old leader, Patrick Teale and with minor leaguer Matt Snyder’s parents (and sister) As I was seated in the row in front of them. It was a good experience. Nice seats, cheap tickets. Good roast beef sammy, and Matt’s sister had good legs. That’s probably been… twenty years ago?…   |
