Just checked Volpe's at bats today. It appears he only swung at one ball outside the strike zone in four at bats (and the pitch was close). No hits but excellent plate discipline demonstrated.

I tuned in in the third inning with the Yanks down 7-1, so I admittedly wasn’t terrifically focused at first. My take was that there weren’t many/any exceptional situations to form an opinion…Sometimes the ball finds you, and sometimes you’re just there… 🤓 |
