Really enjoying watchingthis WBC = WOW!!! The energy and excitement levels by the Players and Fans os beyond GREAT!!!
Makes it real fun to watch.

How advice from a Yankees great changed the World Baseball Classic
A trip to the mound by long-time Yankees ace Andy Pettitte changed the course of the first inning in Team USA’s blowout win over Cuba in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic on Sunday.
Pettitte, Team USA’s pitching coach, visited St. Louis Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright after Cuba took a 1-0 lead on a bases-loaded walk with no outs. Wainwright went on to escape the bases-loaded jam with no further damage.
According to a report from The Athletic, Pettitte’s early visit helped Wainwright regroup:
“Andy Pettitte has got the pedigree of having the most wins in playoff history (19) with a bunch of World Series rings (five) in the most hostile environments,” Wainwright said. “(Him) looking me right in the face and kind of revalidating everything that I was already saying to myself was a big thing for me.”
Pettitte told Wainwright to stay aggressive, get ahead in the count. Escape the inning allowing only one run, and you’ll be fine. Wainwright proceeded to fall behind Erisbel Arruebarrena 2-0. But he evened the count, and then threw one of his trademark curves, his third of the at-bat. Arruebarrena hit a bouncer to third base, and Nolan Arenado threw home for the force, getting the first out.
Wainwright gave up just two hits in his final three innings.
“I was just like, he needs a reset here,” Pettitte said. “Sometimes you just forget, they haven’t hit anything hard. But you’re in so much trouble, you feel like you’re treading water.”
Team USA awaits the winner of Monday’s night’s semifinal game between Mexico and Japan in its second consecutive championship appearance.
