USA beats Great Britain 6-2.
Nolan Arenado had two RBI doubles and Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run shot as Team USA defeated Great Britain, 6-2. Kyle Tucker added in an RBI single of his own in the win.
Venezuela upsets Dominican Republic
David Peralta drove in three runs and Anthony Santander hit a solo home run as Venezuela opened pool play with a 5-1 win over the Dominican Republic. Martín Pérez struck out four across 3.1 innings.

Wow, Met fans have to be sick to their stomach right now. I have a feeling an incident like this may spur teams to limit their star players' appearances in the WBC. Relievers who average two strikeouts per inning, have a 6-1 BB-K ratio and ERA+ of 297 don't grow on trees. On the other hand Zack Britton and Ty Clippard are rested, unsigned and no doubt in the best shape of their careers. |
