Yankees roster guess:
SP: Cole, Schmidt, Brito?, Cortes, German
RP: Abreu, Cordero, Holmes, King, Loaisiga, Marinaccio, Peralta, Weissert?
C: Trevino, Higashioka
IF: Rizzo, LeMahieu, Torres, Volpe, Donaldson
OF: Hicks, Judge, Stanton, Florial?
UT: Cabrera, Kiner-Falefa
That of is looking kinda weak but I guess it will be better when Bader is back.

Would not cut Florial:
--From 2020, 2021 and 2022 had ONLY 54 ABs in ML. Not enough AB's this ST had only 39 AB's
--Plays all three oitfield position --He is a Lefty Batter --Had 39 SB in Minors 2022.
I would keep him in the Big Leagues and give him AB's Some Ample TIME.

I’d start him over Hicks and tell him it’s time to sink or swim. No pressure… 😵💫

Florial has had more than a few cups of tea in majors and hasn't produced. His time has passed and his spot on the 40 man roster spot should be relinquished. They gave him a clear shot this spring and once again didn't produce. Calhoun has produced this spring and is more deserving. Heck even Hicks has out performed Florial this spring.

I'd have Florial as the backup OF, until Bader comes back because he can play CF and he runs well for pinch running situations. I'd also have Cabrera was the everyday LF and see if he can continue the impressive hitting he showed in spring training.

Maybe there working on deal or something.

Maybe there working on deal or something. They're just bench/depth guys until Bader comes back and Florial makes the most sense since he can play decent defense and can run well. I wouldn't start any of these guys and the fact that the Yanks haven't decided between Florial or Ortega could mean they're not sold on either and are buying time until something better comes along on the waiver wire.

Outfielder Rafael Ortega has requested a release from his minor league with the Yankees and that request has been granted, reports MLBTR’s Steve Adams. Ortega had an opt-out in his contract yesterday and has been informed that he won’t make the club’s roster. He is now a free agent.
The outfielder was competing for a bench job on the roster alongside players like Willie Calhoun and Estevan Florial. Earlier today, Marly Rivera of ESPN reported that Calhoun has been reassigned to minor league camp, while Florial and Ortega were each set to fly to New York as manager Aaron Boone said the final rosters decisions had yet to be made (Twitter links). It now appears that Ortega isn’t going to get a spot and will be free to pursue opportunities with all 30 clubs.
