lol, I'm the opposite. Not much of a sprinter but I love running ling distances. The longest I ever ran at one time was around 14 miles...drunk, in blue jeans, and wearing Wolverine work boots. Long story. Yeah, that sounds like a crazy one.  I ran 13.1 this morning as part of my marathon training. |

It's a very, very long story. I also had a gun aimed in my face that night, too.  Now you're really going to have to share one day. Now that I think about it, it was likely more than 14 miles, because I was running the wrong way and had to double back through farms, fields, neighborhoods, and railroad tracks. At one point, I was looking for a payphone, and all of them I ran by were destroyed. It was like 3:00 AM. At one point, I passed a bodega and this black guy stopped me and said, "Man, you got to get out of here! You're in a bad neighborhood, and you're in the WRONG neighborhood! If I wan't working on my car, I'd give you a ride." He was on a bicycle with car parts in his hands. He then pointed me in the opposite direction. Probably saved my life had I kept running in the wrong direction. |

Yeah, I had just worked a 10 hour shift as a pipe-fitter's helper at the Hi-Mont Plant in Sulphur, Louisiana. It was a Friday, and some of the guys wanted to go have a few cold drinks and shoot pool at a nearby watering hole. |
