Its a tight quad. I think he should be okay. I said it before and NOW, I will say it again. The Yanks should stop trying to get to the WS this year and INSTEAD use it as a
mini-rebuild year where we give SOME of our Top Prospects Ample Playing Time & Big League Experience, etc. If by chance we go to the WS then...but our gosal should be to ensure we have the RIGHT Young Players with ML Experience for our 2024 run.
This means we Cut/Trade Donaldson and Hicks for sure. We send back to the Farm Calhoun. We call up Perez and then when needed due to injuries (which for sure will happen = DJ, Stanton, Rizzo, Bader, etc.) other Top Prospects.
TB for the last few years have found a way to be VERY competitive with a Payroll of around $80m/year or less and our payroll is over $200m/year.
TB has a better Owner, GM and by far, very far, a better MGR.
I fear the day, hour, minute that I hear/read that Cash has traded some of our Top Prospects for Reynolds (which in the long run will hurt us more then help us).
WE must stop the Instant Grafication BS that has haunted us for 13-years and start doing some long term planning.
Yes, WE will have injuries, just as every other team will...so stop blaming our failures on injuries instead put the blame where it belongs = _____________________________________________(fill in the blank).
After I heard the word Quad, I realized it has been a long while since I have had a quadsome = need to do s one PLANNING!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'm a parrot, I keep repeating the same thing. We have another parrot on the site that does the same thing. Something about a six year plan with our starting players being elevated from AAA, AA, A, and low A. Maybe even the rookie leagues… Maybe her owner wants to make more anti-Yankee bets…😂

Anybody remember a Yankee pitcher from the 1970s named Dave Pagan? Except his name was pronounced like what the Visigoths and Huns were. No demerits for not knowing him. There was also the better-known Jose Pagan, pronounced like this guy's. I vaguely remember him as a long relief/spot starter type in the early-mid 70's. I had to look him up in Baseball Reference and couple things stood out. He was born in Nipiwan, Saskatchewan, a place normally populated by hockey players. In fact on Nipiwan's Wiki page, under notable people he's listed along with 3 NHL players. Pagan was having his best season in 76', then the Yanks included him in a big trade with the Orioles. Traded with Rick Dempsey, Tippy Martinez, Rudy May and Scott McGregor to the Baltimore Orioles for Doyle Alexander, Jimmy Freeman, Elrod Hendricks, Ken Holtzman and Grant Jackson. He was later picked by the Mariners in their expansion draft, was lousy and then traded to the Pirates for the dreaded PTBNL. That player turned out to be Rick Honeycutt. I remember Jose Pagan more clearly. A pretty good fielding/light hitting SS for the Giants and Pirates. He hit .368 in the 62' WS and lasted long enough to start at SS for the 1971 WS.

Nice research Matt. There have been a handful of major leaguers from Saskatchewan, but besides Pagan the only others who hung around awhile were Reggie Cleveland of Swift Current and Terry Puhl of Melville. The Guess Who had a song "Going Back To Saskatoon." My brother and I once went to a Western Hockey League game in Moose Jaw (taking on their archrivals from Medicine Hat, if memory serves.) It’s a desolate place, almost Siberian. Right down to the heavy drinking. Lots of wheatfields and silos. And hockey ponds. Yeah, Jose Pagan was so typical of shortstops of that era. Good-hitting shortstops were almost viewed with suspicion.
