At least the Rays blew a 6 run lead in the bottom of the ninth to the White Sox as the Sox stopped their 10-game losing streak… But we have a lot of teams to pass before we worry about the Rays. Blasted Orioles don’t look like they’re going away any time soon and the Blue Jays are on the thick of the race, too… Time to panic? No. Time to be deeply concerned however.

How many games does Boone's management lose for us every season? Just terrible at his job. I'd guess 6-8.

How many games does Boone's management lose for us every season? Just terrible at his job. I'd guess 6-8. In a good year. This is a bad year and I’d say he’s ahead of that pace at this point. The ofc thing is that I seldom feel like he’s won a game for us by posting the right line up batting in the proper order. Or by pushing the young guys a bit more to play through a touch of soreness or tiredness. By pulling the starter at the right time or leaving him in, as he failed to do tonight. By pushing the right bullpen buttons in tight situations. He’s a Boone-Zo… 🤡

The Yankees are hitting a combined .226/.299/.378 with an OPS lower than the Oakland A's, a team that is actively trying to tank.

I should add as well that his penchant for resting players has not proven to make them more durable, or even productive. What it does do is water down his available product by almost always having one or two lesser quality players on the field. The bench players are typically bench players for a reason. They’re not as good as the starters. I know that they need work to be at their best, but when they’re batting a buck fifty anyway, what are you accomplishing? This foolish idea that we have to get them going. I agree. Get them going out of town. Let their ass get splinters. Mental mistakes are for rookies, not fifth or sixth year players. Deal with them…
I’m at the point where I feel we’ve reached that crossroads where we have managerial fatigue. Too much of the same thing over and over. Yet, the one thing we fail to see is consistency. At lest not positive consistency.
The YES announcers keep saying our bats will wake up when it gets warm. Why are other teams able to score runs in the cold, then? And doesn’t it stand to reason that if the Yankee bats will hit better in the warmed weather that other teams will follow suit?
Rant over (probably). This loss just got to me because once German left I felt all the sir go out of the team, out of the crowd and out of me. The smell of defeat wafted over the whole affair from the second Holmes failed to field that com backed to the mound. You could sense Cleveland’s energy, there was no energy on the Yankee team any more at that point…

This really is how I see Aaron Boone. So disgusted about the way this team is playing, and I do not mean because they are losing. The lack of situational awareness, the inability to adjust based on the count, the role-less bullpen management, the ignorance and abject aversion to how a pitcher is performing instead of a pitch count of 88, etc. Last night with speed on first base and a slim two run lead with two outs, IKF swung at the first pitch. Not even one chance to allow the runner a chance to get in scoring position. Fundamental baseball gaffe from a manager that is a third generation MLB player.

I think chatGPT would manage better than Boone.

That sums up the Yankee organization well, they have some kind of blueprint playbook on how to run this team and their sticking to it. Slow on adjustments that must be made and oblivious to what's really happening on the field.

Why bring in Holmes when you're facing all those lefties in Cleveland's heart of the order (Holmes' splits against lefties are bad) especially when King had already warmed up twice before? Because he's "the closer"? Weak sauce.

Fortunately I don't have the authority or I would have fired Boone after the game last night for all the reasons listed in this thread. German was throwing arguably the best game of any Yankee pitcher this year and absent the availability of Mariano Rivera there would have been no chance I would have lifted him. However realistically we are trotting out lineups that are barely major league performers at this time. How pitiful is it when the pinch hitter available was Aaron Hicks, who shouldn't even be on the team. I hope Cabrera is just in a slump but he is playing like a late inning defensive replacement or pinch runner. I still have faith in Peraza and would not send him down when the injured folks are ready, if ever, but I expect when Donaldson is ready he will be returned to AAA. I am not the biggest Stanton fan but when he is in the lineup he gives other teams something to think about other than Judge. Hope springs eternal.

What are they blind? His Lucky Charm moment is over. He should be DFA'd with the rest of the trash this team is carrying.
