Young inger wasn’t the best at oppo field, but he did it once in a while. I still laugh at one time I did and hit a triple, the guy playing SS was on the high school team and tried to deke me. I knew there was no way the throw was coming…

Young inger wasn’t the best at oppo field, but he did it once in a while. I still laugh at one time I did and hit a triple, the guy playing SS was on the high school team and tried to deke me. I knew there was no way the throw was coming… I could go to the opposite field in my sleep; pulling the ball intentionally was usually a ground out to the left side for me, so I learned early to see the ball and hit it where it's pitched and not try to force things before the ball was thrown. I didn't strike out and hit for a high average. Probably robbed me of lots of homers, but I liked being on base and driving in runners. Nothing was more fun than pitching though. |
