Reggie, Giambi and Sierra. They threw us a curve. Or maybe it was a sweeper. Ruben Sierra - a dangerous switch hitter - and the man Tony La Russa christened "a village idiot." Sierra clashed with Torre in his first stint with the Yankees, stupidly remarking, "All they care about over there is winning." By the time Ruben returned to the Yankees, he had matured quite a bit. Excellent pinch hitter and solid DH. |
