This seems odd. I never have understood the opener piece. What is the difference if you have your starter enter the game in the first inning or the third? Either way, the "opener" will pitch one or two innings, depending upon effectiveness, whether it's to begin the game or in the fifth or sixth inning. It's a shuffle of innings, except for skipping the first three batters of the game. |

So I guess Brito becomes the “bulk” guy… Cordero for 2 innings is my guess. Brito 3-4 innings. Maybe it prevents us from falling behind early… |

The light came on at that point. Perhaps that’s the one piece that makes sense. As far as I’m concerned Cordero can pitch 5 innings if he’s throwing loose and easy… 😂 |

Last time we faced Manoah I called him the “Manoah Spreader” and he shut us out for 7 innings.
ERA vs. Yankees this year; 0.00
ERA vs. all other teams 5.83.
I think k we owe him one.
His last outing he was hammered by Tampa Bay for 7R 9H in 4.2 innings.
Did you know that he’s led the AL in hit batters in each of the last two seasons? (total 31). Look out Rizzo!!!!‼️‼️‼️…
