Donaldson has yet to hit fastball for a homerun...today he hit a hanging changeup I don’t understand why pitchers don’t just throw all fastballs to him and blow him away. I guess they out think themselves… if a guy can’t get around on the fastball, why slow the pitch down for him?…

Other than a half a season last year, Trevino is what he always was - a very good defensive back-up catcher. The Yankees need to continue their tradition of finding catchers that not only contribute but are a threat every single game. From Bill Dickie to Yogi Berra to Elston Howard to Munson to Posada - sprinkle in Wally Schang and Mike Stanley. I'm blanking on the names of the guy we got from Atlanta and the one for two seasons from the Dodgers and the one from Pittsburgh.

Thanks for the assist, Pipps! I'll think of the other in second.

Even last season was built on a nine game spree that boosted his numbers unbelievably. There was that and an ofc stretch where he came through in clutch situations that kept his rep above water…

Not in comparison to who we have behind the plate now and for the last few years. Even as bad as we thought he was at the time, he still had an OPS of .723 in Pinstripes. Trevino is .554 and not getting better.

If I recall correctly, in mid-August he had one hit on a ball below hie waist. Guy was terrible.

I felt the same way, but I was longing for Posada and those of backstops past. Now, I'm just looking for someone better than replacement level offensively.

Difficult to believe the Yankees have not won a series in Oakland since 2016.

It’s one of those embarrassment of riches situations when we (cause I do it too) bitch about the lack of offense from the reining gold glove winner at a defense-first position…
