Coming into today's game, the Yankees had the third lowest team ERA in the majors, so pitching isn't the problem, although Sevy is putting a hurt on that ERA right now. Very true. Hitting and scoring has been the main problem. But, when our starters aren't right, they get boat-raced. Yea this offense has had to come back a bunch in some of the wins when you think about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Remembering about 5-6 weeks ago when we were thinking “Wait til Sevy gets back. Then it’ll be better” Now we’re like “Rodon is coming back. Then it’ll be better.” “Soon Cortez will be back.” What if it’s never going to get better?… Inger what are you even referring to? They won their last 3 series 2 against teams in the playoff race and are 6-4 in their last 10 and have cut the deficit behind Baltimore to 3.5 in confused how the team hasn't gotten better once Bader came back ? They obv need Judge back but they don't look as much of a disaster this past week or so and are heading in the right direction. With Baltimore coming up next they have a chance to be tied or even pass them by the asb. I mean I'm feeling pretty good right now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I’m looking for consistency, Anthony. Wd look good one day and horrendous the next day. Even against bad teams like today. The starting pitching is still such an important part of baseball. And since you set me up, it gives me a chance to moan about our defense this year, too. The Cardinals fielding % is .989. Ours is .984. That doesn’t sound like much, but it means we’ve made Almost 50% more errors, like 29 vs. 43 or so… it shows today. Throwing the ball into RF. I think Boone has turned a good defensive infielder (Cabrera) into an OF that gets few repitikns in the inf. and fails when he’s given a chance… Yes. I’m channeling Noetsi since he doesn’t show up much anymore, but this team offers some frustration. I was very dissatisfied with the Oakland series because we had no business losing the first game. I’m feeling the same way today. We let bad teams put the pressure on us to comeback and win series. If you do that enough, you lose series…

It is hot and sticky in St. Louis. However… at their ages I used to play in the same weather with no access to water. These guys can drink until they puke if they want to… Speaking of BBQ sauce, you can't go wrong with Stubbs BBQ, which Inger you will be glad to know was bought by McCormicks. Oh my god! A black man in the label! When is going to get cancelled?…

If you do that enough, you lose series… It's difficult to sweep any baseball team, especially over the course of a long season. Winning two of three is 667. winning percentage, which is a 108 win season. And, we pitched well in that first game, losing 2-1. You are not required to channel Noetsi...

Sounds like Red Sox series part 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Opps, I looked at the stats wrong, they're 12 in runs so they are slightly better than average. They only had 4 more runs than us coming into today. Now it’s 11, and we may be helping them achieve that top ten status…

Boone does know that he doesn't have to wait until after the fourth inning to lift a starting pitcher, right?

Boone mercifully decided not to wait until Severino reached the 4.2 mark and comes out to tuck him into bed…

Yeah. ME! I would have been BBQ’d in that heat. And I hated the interstates around that city… Here I sit at about 80 degrees with virtually no humidity, under a ceiling fan with a gray AQI. St. Louis would need more than BBQ to lure me in… What is an AQI? That tells you something about me. With the right monetary inducement, I'd gladly move to where there's great BBQ or other culinary delights. St. Louis -- like Baltimore, Buffalo, Detroit and other once-great cities -- has suffered a long steady decline. Which means it has many wonderful old buildings and cultural institutions and a lower cost of living and traffic isn’t bad. I always have affection for the ageing beauties. But the population has declined from almost 900,000 in 1950 to less than 300,000 today. That's the steepest decline of any major US city. Between 1870-1920, St. Louis was the fourth-largest city in the US. Nice suburbs, like those other slow-death cities. If architecture matters to you -- it does to me -- St. Louis has some significant buildings and public spaces -- the Arch, of course, which is really amazing when you're there, one of the great train stations in Union Station, Forest Park, which is where the 1904 World's Fair was held, and the Wainwright Building, one of the most significant advances in skyscraper architecture and actually the main thing I wanted to see on my first visit there. And naturally a fun downtown stadium. But a lot of problems. More than most cities IMO. And I'm a fan of the place. Anyway, my overblown two cents on St. Looey. Nice place to visit but....
