Interesting how technology has allowed German to look down while taking the pitch-com call… I wonder how many other pitchers might follow this practice as time goes on…

Looks like it's one of those games when the Yanks get 12 hits and score 1 run. Let’s be thankful for what have (especially now 🦊)… The most hits a team can get in an inning without scoring is six. First two batters in the inning each get a base hit. Each is picked off base or caught stealing. Two out, bases empty. Next three batters hit singles, loading the bases with two out. Next batter hits a ball that strikes one of the baserunners. By rule the runner is out (three out), the ball is dead at the moment of impact (no run can score), and the batter is credited with a base hit. No runs, six hits... So it’s possible though certainly not probable to get shutout on 54 hits… And now HIGGY has popped! … |
