Such a huge state. My mother-in-law spent part of her childhood in Ouray, so we used to take her back there to see some of the people that she knew that were still around. That town was like a throw back to the past, it was so unique. It hasn’t changed much. Like many of the little mountain towns they don’t want the fast food or the chain motels. All mom and pop stuff. Gorgeous place. I’ve been through several times and Ruthie and I spent the night there once… Hopefully they don't change it. If I remember correctly, there's only one road that goes through the town. |

Ouray is about a 4 hour drive from here. We’re just minutes from the Great Sand Dunes National Monument… Such a huge state. My mother-in-law spent part of her childhood in Ouray, so we used to take her back there to see some of the people that she knew that were still around. That town was like a throw back to the past, it was so unique. There are towns I this state that we’d have to drive almost 7 hours to reach. We’re sort of in the south/central part. Driving back east you can cover all of the New England states in that amount of time… |

They e got a network of streets, but still only one main road going through. They’re kind of limited in space there, self contained by the canyon… |
