Don't want to get false hope with a few wins over a bad team. I want to relax and watch a game but don't want to get frustrated if they don't show up to play.

Don't want to get false hope with a few wins over a bad team. I want to relax and watch a game but don't want to get frustrated if they don't show up to play. Honestly they've been in a playoff position all year even with Judge out they held it from 6/4 to 7/6 and had no cushion either (they were only 2.5 up when Judge went out). So they held it for a month without Judge. They had a bad 2 weeks since then but they've already made up half the 4 game hole they got in so not sure where this whole "false hope" thing is coming from. Volpe sitting, Peraza at SS. Man, Boone and Cashman love Bauers. Batting leadoff as soon as he's cleared to return. Not even an extra rest day before playing. It's like they see him becoming Mickey Mantle. They may have unlocked something, but the door is still ajar. |

I've been watching this game for a very long time. You can tell when a team is playing good and a team is going through the motions. The 2023 Yankees are not about winning just surviving.

Even if Severino continues to struggle as a starter, he could be a huge advantage as a set-up man in the bullpen if they make the playoffs. I was encouraged in Sevy's last start that after throwing 96 mph fastballs for most of the game, when he got into trouble he was able to dial it up to 100 several times.
