Middleton is 29 and does not appear to move the needle much. On the other hand, in previous seasons he’s fanned about 8 per 9 innings and this year he’s at 11.6. I’d say he has a new pitch in his arsenal, so maybe we have something here… The disappointing season of Marinacchio (wonder if something’s wrong with him), and the recent bullpen inconsistency make this a necessary move… Bye, Bobby Abreu? I think so… Yea he seems like he could be useful. He was def a name thrown around in rumors of being available and wasn't just some random like Howard appears to be. So I don't hate this move, but there needed to be more moves than this.... |

Now this poor guy is a symbol of Yankee futility. |
