Time to fold up the tent on this team on getting any kind of consistency together. If I was Hal I would scrap Boone and Blake tonight and give Mendoza the reins the rest of the season. Get rid of Cashman at the end of the season and start fresh. Too many dollars invested for way too many years to put up with last place. George would have done it weeks ago. These guys now have it too easy with no real accountability. Hal is weak.

2 games equals lately? When has just making it to the EXPANDED playoffs been considered a success? This team is not winning anything and we all know it.

They would play the Twins or the Guardians in the first round why would you not want the third wildcard if you can't get the first one or the division? Who wants to get the second wildcard and get 3 games in Tampa? |

Just being realistic I never expected this team to sweep this series the ceiling was always 3 out of 4, but I would have liked them to win the first 2 since the Verlander start is always a tough one that if they win that one it's usually not till after he's gone. They had their chances in this one having 8 hits and 3 walks just didn't get the home runs with people on base and got robbed out of at least 5 runs with that catch in the first inning. I feel like in the last week or two they've been in more games and havent had any of those games where they looked like they would never score since the 1-0 loss in Baltimore. Stanton looks like he's back. Judge has been close on some balls I think he's going to get some HR soon. Volpe still with a lot of bad luck. Gleyber looks off lately. They have games left in the nightmare stretch and are 3-5 so far win the last 2 and they'll be 5-5 in it which I guess is ok since it looked like they could go 0-10 when it started. I think they are still in a good position just hope there isn't too many of these stupid Judge rest days coming up.
