Rodon getting rolled. Rodon got hosed on a strike three last inning that ended up scoring, and Gleyber kept Altuve on the bases who scored on the home run. Def saw more strikeouts than some of the other starts (5 in 2.2 IP and his season high is 6), but still too many balls up and walks.

Tomorrow night, I hope. There's rain in the forecast. Chi -- how was the Government Mule concert? And Bonzo Jr.? It was outstanding. I was going to post a You Tube clip of Govt Mule in the Music Thread but I just haven't got around to it. The Jason Bonham band was fun because it was all Zeppelin music and the fans loved it. The Japanese guitar player was great and he even looked like Jimmy Page. Gov't Mule was main attraction and didn't disappoint. They're terrific musicians and I think Warren Haynes is one of the most underrated guitarist in the business. He can play it all, rock, blues and some slide guitar thrown in. Their set was 2 1/2 hours long with a Pink Floyd tribute included. For the Floyd part of the show, they brought out another guitarist, a sax player and two female backup singers. Overall, one the best shows I've seen a long time.

Another great move for Cashman. A billion dollars in failures but he found Clay Holmes.

Between that and the Pena non swing def gave the Astros extra lives. Sucks they are down 5-1, but with Uriquidy on a pitch count and Yankees being pretty good against the Astros bullpen these last 3 games might be able to catch up.

Donaldson was someone else's trash. They do have pitching in AAA at least.

Agreed, I was happy we got Rodon, but I would have preferred Verlander or Scherzer to have been in Pinstripes for the last several years. Both likely to be Hall of Famers.

I'm going to have to check out Gov't Mule, who I've heard of but not had a sample of their music yet.

Looking like the team we've seen since the trade deadline of 2022 - one hit through three innings. Stanton has stepped up recently in wins. Someone needs to get hot soon.

He used to have his own heavy metal band, was in Black Country Communion with Joe Bonamassa & Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple) and believe it or not he was the drummer of Foreigner for a while. Right now he's also the drummer Full Circle, Sammy Hagar's band, along with doing the Zeppelin thing.

Randy Vasquez should never have been sent down as well as he's pitched. Cole, Schmidt, Nestor, Vasquez, and Brito need to be the five with German gone and Rodon hurt. Sevy needs to be in the bullpen, which I have to apologize for harping on for the last few weeks. Whether he's tipping his pitches or not, he's not fooling or dominating anyone.

Rizz, I guarantee that unless they go OJ Simpson, they will be in the HOF. Each with three Cy Young Awards. If you count only starting pitchers who pitched in MLB from the 20th century onward, they are both within the top 25 all-time in ERA+ at 133 for Scherzer (tied with Ford) and 132 for Verlander (tied with Maddux.) Both better than guys like Koufax, Hubbell and Gibson to name a few. That might slip modestly at the end of their careers, but they should have enough to get in.
