And Miggy's still playing! Good point! They're interviewing Mike Lowell now. I hated when the Yankees traded him. In return they got Mark Johnson, Ed Yarnall and Todd Noel. An early Cashman special. Lowell was such a solid player and a good guy. Plus he would have saved us from A-Rod, although Brosius was still blocking him at the time. I remember walking into Joe Simas' house to watch some kind of game, and he told me the Yankees traded Mike Lowell. Todd Noel was a Louisiana boy from North Vermillion High School, where my sister taught. Of course, I was born and raised in Vermillion Parish. And, Ed Yarnell ended up being the best of the package, which isn't saying much, other than he played college ball at LSU. Simas looked at me and said, "I just have the feeling we just traded a future all-star." And, he was correct. Lowell was a four-time all-star. He would have been a fixture at third or first for years.

Gleyber is a horrible baserunner. It's like he always does the wrong thing instinctively. I learned how to run the bases in little league.

Ed Yarnall was born about ten miles from where I grew up, and I saw him make his first major league start in Anaheim in 1999. He got the victory and I remember feeling almost embarrassed for the Angels because there were way more Yankee fans in attendance and they let loose with a very long loud chorus of "Angels Suck." But you could see early on that Lowell had the right stuff. Not sure I have the chronology right, but the Yankees had "can't miss" Drew Henson coming along at third around the same time.

You have the timing right. Drew Henson received nine plate appearances with the Yankees (and no one else) in 2002 and 2003. Baseball career done.
