I will say that Torres has been the most unexpectedly exciting rookie since Shane Spencer...He has a way to go to displace Cano and Randolph in my personal best Yankees lineup, but he's got the potential. I hated typing this, because I know that when he reads it, there will be more pressure on him to please me, but that's the breaks of playing for the Yankees. When you sign up for that, you know you're going to have to please "The Inger"...

Rizzuto...please tell me you're not supplying Cano with the stuff... I tried to supply him with greenies, hoping he'd run harder to first, but he just ate more at the post game buffet.

He was definitely exciting, but there were some expectations there. I would say that we might have been at least hopeful that he was going to come up and hit 10 of those 20 HR...
I saw Torres as more of a .275 hitter that would hit 15 HR in a complete season...I was wondering what all the fuss was about...Now I know!!!

Interesting, I would have thought there would have been more expectations/fuss attached to Torres as one of the top 5 prospects in all of baseball for the last couple of years.

For some reason, I just wasn't buying in that big on him. I saw him more as VERY high floor, but only moderate ceiling...I tend to like the high ceiling players and await them with more anticipation...

Rickey Henderson LF Derek Jeter SS Don Mattingly 1B Bernie Williams CF Paul O'Neill RF Thurman Munson C Hideki Matsui DH Graig Nettles 3B Gleyber Torres 2B I thought this would be an interesting lineup. Some of my favorite Yankee players to watch...in my life time, that is. Bet Gleyber isn't in there anymore.

Some of my favorite Yankee players to watch...in my life time, that is. Bet Gleyber isn't in there anymore. He was fun to watch in 2018, though a bit tongue in hopeful cheek there. I knew Willie Randolph deserved to be there, though he was fun like watching a train arriving on time everyday without incident. Randolph was so unassuming on and off the field, a quiet competitor who did everything well without one trait sticking out. You already know of my enmity toward Robinson Cano, so no way he was making my list. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Torres with the move back to second base reverts back to his 2018 and 2019 performance? So many timely three-run homers and big hits. He had a flair for the dramatic then.

There's certainly a chance he bounces back. Maybe not to the 38 HRs of the rocket ball era but he has enough talent that he could be a positive contributor. Is that too much to ask?

I have put Reggie in my lineup, and he’s batting cleanup. I’ll take him over Matsui, and bat him fourth, switching him with Bernie. And nobody bats second except for Willie Randolph, nor lead off except for Rickey Henderson. I love Mattingly at 3. Jeter certainly fits anywhere I choose to bat him…
1994 with Henderson atop the lineup and Randolph’s best season followed by the patiently aggressive Mattingly was just amazing…
