Yankees get screwed there. Every time the Yankees get something going it's followed by either : bad call, doofus base running, pitching giving it right back, stupid error, etc. Like they have so many problems doing anything consistently. They have no problems doing all the things you listed consistently. Good point they are good at doing the wrong thing consistently lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When we lived in LA it was part of my turf. I would go up about once a month for maybe three nights. The first few months I felt like I was living large. After about a year I hated the sight of it. Too many degenerates for my taste. Still, as an occasional visit or a place to go with a guest who's never been there, it's must-see Americana. Definitely blows away most first-timers, and that part is fun. I assume you have visited? Your impression? My friend Dougie and I spent about a week in Tijuana, Mexico, and few other places down Baja. After the Sunday bullfights, we decided to drive to Las Vegas. We stayed at the MGM for like 68 bucks a night - total for both of us. This was just before Vegas began to realize they could charge whatever they wanted for hotels and buffets and people would still go there to gamble. We had a great time, but we always had a great time no matter where we were. My impression was it was a garish and over-the-top destination that one should make at least once. Of course, upon returning, Sarah had to go. She actually enjoyed Las Vegas much more than me, enjoying all of the Cirque shows and Jimmy Buffet concerts. I cannot recall how many time we went together or with with friends. Maybe eight or ten times. The restaurant scene certainly improved (as did the prices) over time. From Emeril Lagasse to Bobby Flay to great steak houses, we dropped more coin eating than we did gambling. One of my favorite times was seeing George Carlin at the height of his powers. My stomach hurt the next day from laughter. That sounds like a serious underbelly trip, the bullring in TJ and on to Vegas. Agree, Vegas is fun in small doses, but doing it regularly for years I would bust out to Hoover Dam or Red Rocks at every chance to clear my head. My first night going to Vegas for work was the night Tupac Shakur was murdered there. I was coming out of Caesars Palace and saw cop cars everywhere. I thought man, this is going to be a fun assignment. Felt like a Playuh.

It really sucked since Clarke grew about 20 miles from this ballpark and probably had a lot of guests at the game. They said he had sixty guests. Poor guy. If you ever get back, take in a very inexpensive afternoon show with Mac King. I love this guy:

Abreu has that permanently confused, furrow-brow, where are we playing tonight on his face. And right after the mound meeting he throws a 54-footer…

I guess they just called Bader out on the replay for being stupid. I guess just too close to flip it, but he looked safe to me…

Is tonight the night Cashman finally cuts the chord on Abreu and brings up a fresh arm?

More focus on the quality of the product than the budget…

They need to get back to signing some of these bigger names. The better teams seem to have some combo of superstars and homegrown players (which is why I think the Orioles will fall short they are missing a couple big names and why the Rays rarely make it past the ALDS). I think Volpe will be good. No clue about anyone else Peraza hasn't had enough time to really make a ruling and others just not up here enough yet to tell. However, let's say Volpe is the only above average prospect in the next year or two to make a difference you can't just have Judge do everything. Rizzo I'm hoping will get back to being productive, but the rest even Stanton are just sooo inconsistent. You just never know what you will get from any of them.

After that first inning I never thought Fried would be out there for the seventh. And there he goes.

Play the trivia music instead. Question: When is the last time you felt good about this team? BTW: Noetsi would say 1978… 🤓 We all felt really good at last year's All Star Break. I felt fine about Fourth of July this year they were only 2 out of first WC and had beaten the Orioles twice. They were also in a playoff spot then. Not sure what happened since.
