Bader has a terrible arm. He bounced that throw off-line to third, and he was nearly in the infield when he let it go. A decent throw and Ricearoni was dead to rights. Instead, he scores. I hope they don't resign Bader. Same here. It was a stupid trade from the beginning, leaving the team down a starter last season and then the bevy of injuries this season. More than anything, we traded a home-grown left-handed starter who never received run support for an injured centerfielder that can't hit or get on base. |

I thought Volpe would steal more. He should. He's a very good 20/25, but they won't send him more for whatever reason. For a team that cannot manufacture runs, you'd think they'd take advantage of that ability, but Aaron Boone. |

I thought Volpe would steal more. The Yankees changed his approach, thinking that his bouncing and overt aggressiveness was the reason no one was hitting behind him. Now, he's lost much of his aggressiveness and intuitive base stealing ability he was born with, and still no one is hitting behind him. Volpe was a total distraction to pitchers when he was on base. Now, he looks like everyone else on the Yankees. |

Cole leads the team at 5.2, but I should have said position players. Interestingly, the pitcher who is second to Cole is Ian Hamilton at 1.8. I know the point you were making, I was just showing how great Cole has been.  Pitcher's WAR is figured differently than position players. |
